Norman Toy:
I originally got into this business to make a lot of money, but the Aha moment came when I see how we've helped people and really what a difference it's made in their life. You know? That's why I'm in this business because of the satisfaction of helping people.
Paul Klassen:
He took our personal interest very, very seriously, our personal goals our aspirations, and he asked the right questions to dig out from us what our true vision was for our future.
Ian:
Norm's very good at explaining in layman's terms,
Laurel:
Layman's terms, yeah
Ian:
the options, and he suggests "this is what I think we should do", but he says, why. And it makes sense.
Norman Toy:
I've been in the financial industry for well over 25 years, started out as a banker. After that, I started a career as an entrepreneur. Everything from restaurants to retail. Those two careers have really helped as far as relating to my clients.
Paul Klassen:
The thing with Norm is he didn't just become our financial planner. He became our confidant for every aspect of our business. We brought Norm in on a couple of occasions to help our staff goal set and talk about financial planning, talking about the future.
Laurel:
Norm talks to you as a friend. He doesn't talk to you, "okay, yeah, I'm helping you with business planning or, or lifestyle planning". He talks to you as if, okay, he's known you for 50 years.
Paul Klassen:
I just really appreciate the friendship, let alone the business acumen he brought for us.
Elaine Klassen:
In fact, we trust Norm so much that I tell our children, and several of them are Norm's clients now, that if anything happens to Paul and I, their first contact is Norm.
Ian:
He has lots of good ideas, so he's a good, he's a good advisor. Best I've had. Norm doesn't get to retire until I do.
